2 CPI(M) Kerala Leaders Face Case for Alleged Threat to Cong MP, Left Denies Charge

A case was on Sunday registered in opposition to two native CPI(M) leaders for allegedly threatening Congress MP Ramya Haridas, police stated. This cost was refuted by the Left leaders who stated her actions had been for “cheap publicity”.

The case was registered in opposition to former Alathur Panchayat president M A Naser and panchayat member Najeeb for allegedly stopping the automobile of the MP and threatening her, the police stated. The alleged incident occurred at this time when the MP received down to discuss to a number of Haritha Karma Sena members who had been engaged in cleansing work within the space.

“I was on my way to the Alathur MP office. I saw a couple of members of HarithaKarma Sena. I got down to talk to them.After that, as I was leaving, some CPI(M) workers abused me and said there was no need for a cheap show like this. They asked as to why I went there and threatened that they will kill me if I went there again. So, I filed a complaint,” Haridas informed reporters.

She later posted the matter on Facebook wherein the MP was seen engaged in a verbal twin with a CPI(M) employee. However, the CPI(M) denied the allegations and stated “The Parliamentarian wants to go viral in the media”.

(*2*) Naser informed the reporters. Najeeb challenged the MP to launch the complete video of the incident quite than releasing part of it.

Meanwhile, Haritha Karma Sena members, who talked to the reporters, stated the MP got here to take a selfie with them. “The MP and another Congress worker came to click a selfie with us. We asked her not to stand close due to pandemic but they said it was fine and clicked a picture,” a sena member informed the reporters.

The case has been filed below sections 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (felony intimidation) of the IPC in opposition to the 2 CPI(M) leaders, the police stated.
