New Delhi: In a big blow to the Congress social gathering in Maharashtra, senior chief and former state Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has tendered his resignation. Chavan’s departure marks the most recent in a sequence of high-profile exits from the social gathering, following carefully on the heels of outstanding figures similar to Baba Siddiqui and Milind Deora.

Fadnavis additional emphasised the rising sentiment amongst political figures in direction of aligning with the BJP, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s management and the nation’s developmental trajectory as compelling elements. “Many leaders see the BJP as the platform to serve the people and contribute to the nation’s progress. “I have resigned from the Assembly membership as an MLA. I have given my resignation to the Speaker. I have resigned from the Congress Working Committee and Congress primary membership. I have not decided to join any party. I will clear my stand on joining a party after two days,” Chavan instructed reporters after resigning from Congress. When requested if he could be becoming a member of the BJP, Former Maharashtra CM stated, “I will tell you in 48 hours.”
Hailing from a political dynasty, Chavan had been a stalwart throughout the Maharashtra Congress, having served because the Chief Minister from December 2008 to November 2010. His departure leaves a notable void within the social gathering’s management, given his affect and longstanding presence in state politics.
