Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing division of Amazon.com Inc, mentioned on May 18 it plans to invest ₹1.06 trillion ($13 billion) in India by 2030, doubling down on its previous investments to cater to an ever-growing demand.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing division of Amazon.com Inc, mentioned on May 18 it plans to invest ₹1.06 trillion ($13 billion) in India by 2030, doubling down on its previous investments to cater to an ever-growing demand.

The newest funding can be used to construct its cloud infrastructure in India and it’ll assist over 1,00,000 full-time jobs yearly, AWS mentioned.

The firm runs two information centres in the Indian subcontinent— one in Mumbai which was launched in 2016, and one other in Hyderabad, began in 2022.

AWS’s complete deliberate funding in India provides up to about $16.4 billion by 2030, the corporate mentioned in an announcement.

The cloud platform affords greater than 200 providers, together with storage, robotics and synthetic intelligence.

Amazon’s cloud division has been investing in areas the world over to present seamless connectivity. Earlier this 12 months it mentioned it plans to invest $6 billion in Malaysia by 2037.
