Amid Covid-19 Surge, Uttarakhand Makes RT-PCR Test Report Mandatory For People Arriving From 12 States

Dehradun: Amid a surge in Covid-19 instances, the (*12*) authorities on Tuesday made it obligatory for folks coming from a dozen states to furnish unfavorable RT-PCR take a look at stories not older than 72 hours on arrival.

Issuing the advisory, Chief Secretary Om Prakash stated the restriction would apply to these coming from Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan by highway, air and trains from April 1.

People coming from these states, together with these residing in (*12*), shall strictly adhere to the norms of security and social distancing as per the rules of the Home Affairs and the Health ministries and that of the state authorities, the advisory stated.

Violations will probably be punishable beneath the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemics Act, 1897, and related sections of the Indian Penal Code, it stated.

Persons above 65 years of age, these with co-morbidities, pregnant girls and kids beneath 10 are suggested to journey solely in unavoidable circumstances, the advisory stated.

The district administration shall make preparations for random Covid-19 testing on the airport, railway stations and all border test posts, it added.

If any inbound individual is discovered optimistic for Covid-19, prevailing customary working process shall be adopted for additional care, the advisory stated.

However, there shall be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state motion of important companies and items, it acknowledged.

Along with this, the February 26 order relating to the “SOP for prevention and control of Covid-19 during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2021 at Haridwar” shall be strictly adopted, the official added.
