CCTV footage reveals that suspended police officer Sachin Vaze and deceased businessman Mansukh Hiran had met on February 17, the day a Scorpio in Hiran’s possession was ‘stolen’, an official of the Maharashtra ATS mentioned on Friday. The similar Scorpio, laden with gelatin sticks, was discovered close to industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s home on February 25.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad, which is probing Hiran’s suspicious demise, has recovered CCTV footage of a spot close to Chhhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in south Mumbai which confirmed Vaze and Hiran sitting in a Mercedes, the official mentioned.
Incidentally, the NIA, which is probing the restoration of the explosives-laden SUV, seized the similar Mercedes automobile, allegedly being utilized by Vaze, after arresting him. The CCTV footage confirmed that Hiran and Vaze have been in the automobile for about 10 minutes.

Hiran had claimed that on February 17 whereas he was heading for south Mumbai from his home in Thane, the steering of the Scorpio jammed, so he left it on Mulund-Airoli street and proceeded in a cab. Next day he discovered the SUV was lacking, he mentioned.
The CCTV footage confirmed Vaze leaving in Mercedes from police commissioner’s workplace. Hiran is seen strolling in the direction of the automobile when it’s parked exterior CSMT. Both sit inside and ten minutes later Hiran steps out and walks away whereas Vaze drives again to the commissioner’s workplace.
The ATS suspects that Hiran handed over the keys of Scorpio to Vaze throughout this assembly, sources mentioned.
On February 25, the Scorpio was discovered parked close to Ambani’s residence `Antilia’ with gelatin sticks and a risk letter.
Vaze was arrested by the NIA on March 13 for his alleged position in parking the SUV close to Ambani’s residence.
The NIA had earlier this week seized a black Mercedes automobile from a parking zone close to CSMT and seized Rs 5 lakh in money, note-counting machine and a few ‘incriminating’ paperwork. Hiran was discovered useless in a creek in Thane on March 5. His household alleged that Vaze had a task in his demise.
NIA to research Mansukh Hiran’s homicide case
The homicide case of Mansukh Hiran is prone to be transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
