Meanwhile, home pharma main Panacea Biotec in collaboration with Russian sovereign wealth fund RDIF has begun the manufacturing of ‘Sputnik V’ COVID-19 vaccine in India, based on a joint assertion issued on Monday. As introduced in April, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) – which markets the vaccine internationally, and Panacea Biotec agreed to supply 100 million doses per 12 months of Sputnik V in India.

The first batch of the COVID-19 vaccine produced at Panacea Biotec’s amenities at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh shall be shipped to Russia’s Gamaleya Center for “quality control”, the joint assertion stated.

Full-scale manufacturing of the vaccine is predicted to begin this summer time, the assertion stated, with out disclosing the precise month wherein the large-scale manufacturing would begin.
