BCCI announces annual contract list for women, here’s all you need to know

The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday launched the annual contract list for Team India Senior Women. The list featured 17 gamers they usually have been divided into three grades- Grade A, B, and C.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday announced the Annual Player Contracts for Team India (Senior Women) for the 2022-23 season,” the Indian Board wrote in an announcement. 

Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Deepti Sharma are categorised in Grade A. Renuka Thakur, and Jemimah Rodrigues are added to the Grade B group with three different gamers. On the opposite hand, gamers together with Sneh Rana, and Yastika Bhatia together with seven different teammates are added to Grade C.

Earlier, BCCI had introduced that the girls’s crew will get their match charges at par with the boys’s crew. However, they have not talked about about salaries of the ladies cricketers within the annual contract within the latest launch. As per the final introduced annual contract by the BCCI for the 2020-21 season, the ladies gamers have been awarded Rs 50 lakh (Grade A), Rs 30 lakh (Grade B), and Rs 10 lakh (Grade C). Notably, the boys’s annual contracts are divided as Grade A+ – Rs 7 crore, Grade A – Rs 5 crore, Grade B – Rs 3 crore, and Grade C – Rs 1 crore.

List of gamers in Grade division:

  • Grade A: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma
  • Grade B: Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Rajeshwari Gayakwad
  • Grade C: Meghna Singh, Devika Vaidya, Sabbineni Meghana, Anjali Sarvani, Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana, Radha Yadav, Harleen Deol, Yastika Bhatia

Earlier in March, BCCI had introduced the annual contracts for the boys’s squad. While India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja acquired a promotion within the list as he made it to the highest A+ list with three different Indian stars. Notably, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul have been handed a demotion within the contracts. It is value noting that gamers in Grade A+ will obtain Rs 7 crore as their wage.
