Bengaluru: With the surge in Mucormycosis or Black Fungus instances in Karnataka, the state authorities has selected Monday to begin treating the illness that usually seems as a post-Covid complication in folks attributable to extreme use of steroids.
Dr Okay Sudhakar, Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education for the Government of Karnataka, took to Twitter in regards to the precautions the state authorities has been taking Mucormycosis or Black Fungus sufferers. The Health Minister tweeted: “Mucormycosis is now a notified disease and all hospitals have to mandatorily report the cases. Government has ordered for 20,000 vials of Amphotericin B used for the treatment of Mucormycosis. Measures are being taken to identify sources of contamination to prevent infection.”
