The Bengaluru winter assembly, comprising of twenty-two race days, is scheduled to begin on November 3 (Friday) and conclude on March 16, 2024 (Saturday) with races being carried out primarily on Fridays and Saturdays. It was later introduced that the second day’s races to be held on November 4 wouldn’t be held as a result of paucity of entries.
Briefing the media, Arvind Raghavan, chairman & senior steward, Bangalore Turf Club, mentioned the mixture prize cash is ₹13.26 crore. In respect of native horses, a performance-linked incentive of 15% shall be credited to the accounts of the proprietor(s) involved.
The minimal variety of acceptors has been restricted at 4 with respect to races to be run over a distance of 1,800m or extra. In races for horses rated 70 & above, the highest weight has been capped at 65 kg. The minimal variety of acceptors has been restricted at 5 with respect to races for horses rated 70 and above and 6 with respect to 2-year-olds in 2023 & 3-year-olds in 2024.
The most variety of acceptors in respect of odd races will proceed to be 12 besides on Classic days the place the utmost variety of runners shall be 14.
