Naomi Osaka took to social media to announce that she is withdrawing from the Roland Garros.

Naomi Osaka stated Monday she is withdrawing from the French Open following the bitter fall-out from her choice to boycott all media exercise.
“The neatest thing for the event, the opposite gamers and my well-being is that I withdraw so that everybody can get again to specializing in the tennis occurring in Paris,” the world number two wrote on Twitter.
The 23-year-old Japanese star was fined $15,000 on Sunday and threatened with disqualification after she refused to carry out a mandatory news conference following her first round win.

She claimed on the eve of Roland Garros that such post-match inquests were akin to “kicking people when they are down” and that that they had a detrimental impact on her psychological well being.
“I by no means wished to be a distraction and I settle for that my timing was not excellent and my message may have been clearer,” the four-time Grand Slam title winner said in her statement.
“The truth is I have suffered bouts of depression since the US Open in 2018 and I have had a really hard time coping with that.”
She added: “In Paris, I used to be already feeling susceptible and anxious so I assumed it was higher to train self-care and skip the press conferences.
“I introduced it preemptively as a result of I do really feel like the principles are fairly out-dated in elements and I wished to spotlight that.”
