Big Breakthrough As Assam Police Arrests Five People For Supplying SIM Cards to Pakistani Agents | India News


GUWAHATI: Five individuals have been arrested from Nagaon and Morigaon districts of Assam for allegedly supplying SIM playing cards to Pakistani brokers, a police spokesperson mentioned on Wednesday. Several cellphones, SIM playing cards and different incriminating supplies, together with a handset used to share defence data with a international embassy, have been seized, he mentioned.

Assam Police spokesperson Prasanta Bhuyan mentioned the arrests have been made throughout an operation carried out on Tuesday night time, based mostly on inputs from a central company and different sources.

“There were inputs that around 10 people from the two districts were involved in fraudulently procuring SIM cards from different service providers and supplying those to some Pakistani agents, thus working against the integrity and sovereignty of the nation,” he mentioned.

Five of the accused have been arrested on Tuesday night time, he added.

Those arrested have been recognized as Ashiqul Islam, Bodor Uddin, Mijanur Rahman and Wahiduz Zaman, all from Nagaon, and Baharul Islam from Morigaon.

Nagaon Superintendent of Police Leena Doley advised PTI that operations to apprehend the absconding 5 accused are underway and whether or not extra individuals have been concerned within the racket shall be recognized later.

Doley refused to determine the central company concerned within the case and maintained that varied businesses of Assam Police have been working along with Nagaon Police and the central company.
