Former India captainĀ and legendary spinner Bishan Singh BediĀ handed away on October 23. He was 77-years-old.

Born in Amritsar in 1946, Bedi performed 67 Tests for India and took 266 wickets with 14 5 wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul.

He was the a part of Indian cricketā€™s golden quartet of spinners, others being Erapalli Prasanna, Bhagwat Chadrasekhar and Srinivas Venkataraghavan, who shaped the core of Indiaā€™s bowling unit for greater than a decade between 1966 and 1978.
