New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday (March 16) laid a scathing assault on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and alleged that they’re “conspiring to kill” her.
Addressing a ballot rally at Bankura in West Bengal, Banerjee stated that regardless of farmers protesting on the Delhi borders, all of the BJP ministers are right here in Bengal.

“Farmers have been protesting for six months now, however, the ministers are not holding talks with them. All the ministers are here, in Bengal, where they have booked hotels and are conspiring to kill me, destroy TMC and how to file cases against TMC with the help of EC,” ANI quoted her as saying.
Banerjee additionally accused Union Home Minister and BJP senior chief Amit Shah of hatching a conspiracy to harass Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders. She additional claimed that he’s getting “frustrated” by “poor turnout” at his rallies.
“Amit Shah is getting frustrated as there is a poor turnout at his rallies. Instead of running the country, he is sitting in Kolkata and hatching a conspiracy to harass TMC leaders. What do they want? Do they want to kill me? Do they think that they will win this election by killing me? They are wrong,” she stated at her marketing campaign rally.
The TMC supremo requested whether or not Shah is working the Election Commission (EC) and giving “instructions” to them.
Referring to the alleged “attack” on her in Purba Medinipur’s Nandigram, she stated that BJP is plotting conspiracies to kill her as her safety director Vivek Sahay was eliminated by the EC after she sustained accidents throughout her rally there.
“Is Amit Shah running the EC? He is giving instructions to the EC. What happened to their independence? My director, security (Vivek Sahay) was removed (by EC) as per his instructions,” she was quoted as saying by PTI.
Meanwhile, BJP delegation visited the workplace of the Chief Electoral Officer in Kolkata on March 15 and demanded the cancellation of Banerjee’s nomination from Nandigram.
Nandigram is a key battle floor within the upcoming West Bengal polls and can witness a tricky struggle between Banerjee and BJP chief Suvendu Adhikari.
West Bengal will go to polls in eight phases commencing from March 27. The counting of votes might be carried out on May 2.
