The Pakistan Cricket Board’s request to switch venues for the ODI World Cup 2023 has reportedly been denied by BCCI and ICC. The 2023 ODI World Cup is scheduled to happen in India in October- November and each the arch-rivals shall be up in opposition to one another within the marquee match. Pakistan had earlier requested to switch venues for their matches in opposition to Australia and Afghanistan.

As per a report by Cricbuzz, the ICC and BCCI held a gathering on June 20 and formally knowledgeable their joint determination to the PCB. It was reported in Pakistan media that Babar Azam‘s staff shall be taking part in in opposition to Afghanistan in Chennai and can face Australia in Bengaluru. After the discharge of a draft schedule, the Board requested to switch the venues for the 2 matches. 

The report provides that ICC and BCCI knowledgeable that there isn’t any motive to change the venues now. The venues will be modified solely after ICC’s approval. Also, the venue modifications are solely thought of when a venue is deemed not appropriate for cricket or there are safety considerations.
