The Boxing Federation of India organised an elite multinational coaching camp in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers.
In a significant enhance to the preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games later this yr, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC), have organised an elite multinational coaching camp on the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports in Patiala.
The 13-day dynamic camp, which started on January 29 and can go on until February 10, has been hosted to offer the boxers a lot-wanted worldwide publicity forward of the essential Olympics qualifiers.
Parveen (57kg), the Asian Games and World Championships 2022 bronze medallist, and males’s World Championships bronze medallists Deepak Bhoria (51kg), Mohammed Hussamuddin (57kg) and Nishant Dev (71kg) are amongst 30 Indian boxers, together with 13 feminine, who’re half of the camp which additionally options seven male and 5 feminine boxers from England. The multinational camp provides an ideal platform for Indian pugilists to arrange for the Olympic Games qualification tournaments as they may work on sharpening their expertise whereas coaching alongside worldwide boxers.
The reigning nationwide champions Anamika (50kg), Sonia Lather (57kg), Jasmine (60kg) and Pooja Rani (75kg) are the opposite Indian ladies boxers taking part within the camp. Among males, the 2022 Asian Games bronze medallist Narender (92+kg) and reigning nationwide champions Shiva Thapa (63.5kg), Lakshya Chahar (80kg) and Sanjeet (92kg) are half of the camp.
