According to the sources, the TMC supremo stayed only for 10 minutes at Abhishek’s residence and took his daughter with her on return.

In no time, a team of CBI official arrived at Abhishek Banerjee’s residence to question his wife Rujira Banerjee. Rujira was issued summon by the central investigating agency asking her to be available for questioning in the case. A team of official even visited her in Kolkata on Sunday however she was not present.

On Monday, the wife of the TMC leader wrote to the CBI saying that she was “unaware of the reason of questioning”. Rujira further said that the CBI team may visit her between 11 AM and 3 PM on 23 February, 2021.

A CBI source said that some suspicious bank transactions related to the coal scam are related to Abhishek’s wife Rujira. That is why the CBI team wants to question Abhishek’s wife Rujira.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee has alleged that he is being targetted by the saffron party ahead of the state elections. Taking a note of the CBI summon, Abhishek on Sunday tweeted saying “if they think they can use these ploys to intimidate us, they are mistaken. We are not the ones who would ever be cowed down.”

It is to be noted that Abhishek Banerjee is one of the most discussed politicians considering the upcoming Bengal assembly elections.
