A WFI official threw his weight behind the accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, stating that there was no incident of sexual harassment and that the wrestlers staging a protest have been doing in order they have been miffed by the change in legal guidelines enacted by the WFI reminiscent of trials for all

The outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is “not hiding” anywhere, he will “expose each one of the protesting wrestlers lies” within the coming days, an official advised IANS.

“Since the matter is in courtroom, he (Brij Bhushan) gained’t discuss to the media proper now. But he’s ready for the fitting time to show all of the lies by these star wrestlers. Whatever these wrestlers are saying are blatant lies. All these items (sexual harassment) by no means occurred. Their drawback was the legal guidelines which WFI placed on for all of the wrestlers in India (trials for all and different guidelines). WFI is for all of the wrestlers not only for the celebs. They simply modified the subject to sexual harassment.

“Political leaders are in search of advantages out of it now since everybody is aware of how Congress and the opposition are getting concerned in it,” the official mentioned.

“Firstly, the wrestlers demanded a committee to be set up. Then they said their own person (Babita Phogat) should also be included. Now they don’t trust their own family member,” he added.

“Committees document all the pieces on video to maintain a proof, so there may be nothing to cover. Everything will likely be out quickly. Wrestlers are getting frightened as a result of they know that their lies will get uncovered in the end,” the WFI official emphasised.

The official further said that Bajrang Punia was praising Brij Bhushan a few months ago and now he is staging a protest, which is “weird”.

“When they declare that harassment was going down for the previous twelve years, then why have been they showering reward on the WFI chief and by no means uttered a phrase on this regard? Because it by no means occurred. The change in guidelines by WFI angered them really. And yet one more factor, nobody from WFI is threatening any ladies wrestlers. We don’t have to do all this, we all know reality will prevail.”

Earlier, on Wednesday, Delhi Police informed the Supreme Court that some preliminary inquiry may need to be conducted before an FIR can be registered into the complaint by the wrestlers.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud that some preliminary inquiry may be needed but if this court orders, then FIR can be registered.

Mehta said that the authorities think that some inquiry should be there.

The Chief Justice replied that the court would also not want to do something unless there is some material.

The bench asked Mehta to furnish the material on Friday and pointed out that the matter involves a minor.
