YAOUNDE, Cameroon: A member of Cameroon’s Africa Cup of Nations squad is amongst 52 gamers who face being excluded from the playoffs within the nation’s high home league due to irregularities with their registrations.
Wilfried Nathan Douala and 51 different gamers deemed by the Cameroonian Football Federation to have “dual identity” lied about their ages and have been quickly suspended, French broadcaster RMC and Cameroonian media retailers reported on Monday.
One membership alone — Yong Sports Academy — had 13 gamers highlighted for suspension or twin identification.
The federation on Sunday printed squad lists for the groups collaborating within the playoffs which are scheduled to start out on Friday, with 52 gamers’ names highlighted in purple for having “dual identity.”
Douala, who performs for Victoria United FC, is 17 years previous in line with his registration.
The Associated Press has requested a remark from the federation.
