Case Against Mumbai Congress Chief and Others for Violation of Covid-19 Pandemic Norms

An FIR was registered in opposition to Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) president Ashok alias ‘Bhai’ Jagtap and 50 employees for allegedly violating the Covid-19 pandemic norms whereas staging an illustration in suburban Goregaon in opposition to the hike in costs of gasoline, a police official mentioned on Sunday. Jagtap and others had gathered on the SV Road Junction within the suburb on Saturday in violation of the rules. Some of them weren’t carrying the face masks in the course of the protest, he mentioned.

During the protest, the Congress employees raised slogans in opposition to the Central authorities over the continual rise within the costs of petrol and diesel.

A case was registered underneath sections 188 (Disobeying the order of public servant) and 269 (negligent act prone to unfold an infection) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Maharashtra Police Act. Nobody is arrested to date, he added.
