The committee, headed by BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar, met and adopted its report recommending Moitra’s expulsion. After the assembly, Sonkar mentioned six members of the panel supported the adoption of the report whereas 4 opposed it. The report will now be despatched to Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla for additional motion.
With BJP members in a majority, it was already extremely possible that the 15-member committee can be taking a grim view of the fees in opposition to Moitra.
