Mumbai/Nagpur: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday performed raids at 4 premises of former Maharashtra dwelling minister Anil Deshmukh after registering FIR in opposition to him in reference to allegations levelled in opposition to him by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.
The CBI officers, who performed raids at 4 properties of Deshmukh in Maharashtra together with his residence in Mumbai and different property in Nagpur, have seized digital devices and incriminating paperwork, ANI reported.
The CBI officers adopted all Covid-19 protocols and wore PPE kits whereas conducting the raids.

Deshmukh later in a tweet mentioned that he totally cooperated with the CBI officers of their inquiry.
“After fully co-operating with the CBI in their inquiry, I am on my way to review the newly constructed Covid19 isolation centres at Katol and Narkhed,” he wrote on the micro-blogging platform.

The probe company had earlier carried out a preliminary enquiry in opposition to Deshmukh on the Bombay High Court’s orders to look into the allegations in opposition to him levelled by the previous Mumbai police commissioner.
According to officers, the CBI obtained sufficient prima facie materials throughout the enquiry to begin a proper probe by registering a daily case in opposition to Deshmukh and different unidentified individuals below the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The former minister was summoned by the probe company for questioning in reference to the matter on April 14.
As a part of its preliminary enquiry, the CBI additionally questioned Deshmukh’s private assistants Sanjeev Palande and Kundan Shinde, former cop Sachin Vaze’s two drivers, bar homeowners, Mumbai Police officers and the individuals near the previous minister in reference to the alleged corruption case.

On March 20, Singh had written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray alleging that the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had indulged in “malpractices” and requested for suspended police officer Sachin Waze to gather Rs 100 crore each month from bars and accommodations.
Deshmukh later resigned as a minister after the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI probe into the allegations.
