CBI registers case against Deputy DG of Mines Safety, recovers Rs 35 lakh bribe
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday busted a racket involving public servant of Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) in collusion with personal individuals, who manipulated and influenced the members of Interview Board for making certain qualification of sure candidates in oral examination.
A case has been registered Deputy Director General (Central Zone), DGMS, Head Office, Dhanbad, two personal individuals and different unknown individuals on the allegations that the Deputy Director General (Central Zone) together with personal individuals and others had entered into conspiracy for displaying undue favours to some of the candidates showing for the oral examination after qualifying Computer Based Examinations for Manager’s, Certificate of Competency (Restricted & Unrestricted), carried out by Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) and in addition manipulating & influencing members of interview board for qualifying such candidates in lieu of large quantity of unlawful gratification.

It was additional alleged that the Deputy Director General (Central Zone) had received 48 candidates certified within the stated interview who have been referred to him by the stated Private Person. For every such candidate, the stated Public Servant allegedly agreed to simply accept an quantity of Rs 1.5 lakh, totaling Rs 72 lakh. It was alleged that the stated quantity was to be delivered in two installments to a different personal particular person (relative of public servant), at Lakhisarai (Bihar).
The CBI laid a lure and caught the accused individuals whereas exchanging the primary installment of alleged bribe quantity of Rs 35 lakh.
Searches are being carried out at 12 places together with Lakhisarai, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Nagpur, Udaipur, Shahdol, Hyderabad, Bilaspur which led to the restoration of incriminating paperwork, articles and investigation is ongoing within the case.
