Centre grants additional flood assistance of ₹941 crore to State


The High Level Committee (HLC) that met below the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday, has authorized additional Central assistance of ₹941.04 crore to poll-bound Karnataka below the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) in the direction of damages due to flood, landslips, and cloudburst throughout 2022.

Karnataka is one of the 5 States to get such additional Central assistance. An official launch mentioned the assistance was over and above the funds launched by the Centre to the States within the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).

It could also be famous that the Opposition events had accused the Centre of releasing solely a paltry sum for dealing with floods in addition to landslips and urged the State authorities to take up the difficulty with the Centre. The difficulty had figured even over the last legislature session held a couple of weeks in the past.

Thanking the Centre for the assistance, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai mentioned: “This shows the resolve of the Union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help the people of Karnataka which faced natural disasters.” He additionally thanked Mr. Shah for clearing the assistance.
