NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.: Charleston Southern males’s basketball coach Barclay Radebaugh is stepping down in his nineteenth season after his workforce acquired off a 2-5 begin.
The faculty’s vice chairman of intercollegiate athletics Jeff Barber mentioned he and Radebaugh talked after Tuesday evening’s 81-52 loss to space rival Citadel and “mutually agreed that in the best interest of our basketball program, new leadership is needed and that now is the right time to begin that process.”
Associate head coach and former Charleston Southern participant Saah Nimley will function interim coach for the remainder of the season, the varsity mentioned.
Radebaugh was employed earlier than the 2005-06 season and have become the longest-tenured coach within the Big South Conference. He finishes with a report of 228-325. Radebaugh led the workforce to 2 profitable seasons, 19-13 in 2012-13 and 19-12 in 2014-15. The Bucs performed within the NIT each these postseasons.
The program has struggled in recent times, going 21-69 for the reason that 2020-21 season.
