Delhi Traffic Police released an advisory to inform about the restrictions and suggested routes for January 23.
The route of the parade rehearsal is informed to be Vijay Chowk – Rajpath – Amar Jawan Jyoti – India Gate – R/A Princess Palace – T/L Tilak Marg Radial Road – then National Stadium at Gate No. 1.
The restrictions enforced include:
- No Traffic allowed on Vijay Chowk from 6:00 om on Jan 22 till the end of parade on Jan 23.
- No cross traffic allowed on Rajpath intersections from 11 pm on Jan 22 at Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh road till the end of parade.
- ‘C’ Hexagon-India Gate to be closed for movement from 9:15 am on Jan 23 till Parade and Tableaux enter National Stadium.
- People have been advised to avoid the parade route from 9 am till 12:30 pm.
For those commuting by metro, boarding and de-boarding at Kendriya Sachivalaya and Udyog Bhawan will not be allowed from 5:00 am till 12 noon on Jan 23.
The document also lists recommended routes, bus terminating points, taxis and more.
For Noida, the movement of heavy goods carriers towards Delhi will be completely banned from the Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) flyway, the Kalindi Kunj route, while the Chilla border also is out of use due to the ongoing farmers’ protest, Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police informed in a statement.
While there is no restriction on light vehicles, the movement of heavy carriers will remain prohibited through the alternative New Ashok Nagar and Kondli routes also.
The traffic police also stated that the diversions will be in place from 10 pm on January 22 till 1.30 pm the next day and then on January 25 till January 26 with the same timings.
