Bijapur Naxal encounter: Two jawans of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) power from 202 Battalion received injured after an encounter with the Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur. IG Bastar P Sundarraj stated that the police had obtained enter relating to the Maoists planning an IED assault in the Pusnar and Hiroli village space.
After this, a District Reserve Guard (DRG), CoBRA power was despatched to hold out a search operation from Gangalur Police Station. During the operation, an encounter broke out between the CoBRA forces and the Naxals, in which two Jawans sustained accidents.
As per the IG Bastar, 2-3 Maoists are additionally suspected to have sustained accidents in the course of the encounter.The injured jawans have been admitted to hospital and their situation is steady, the IG stated.
The search operation is underway and additional particulars are awaited.
