22 safety personnel have misplaced their lives following the encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday. Security forces have launched an operation alongside the Sukma-Bijapur border, the place an intense face-off led to the sacrifice of troopers and left 32 others injured, with 11 jawan lacking.

Union house minister Amit Shah tweeted his condolences after the gunfight. “I bow to the sacrifices of our brave security personnel martyred while fighting Maoists in Chhattisgarh. Nation will never forget their valour. My condolences are with their families. We will continue our fight against these enemies of peace & progress. May the injured recover soon,” he stated.
On Saturday, PM Narendra Modi had wished the injured jawans a speedy restoration. “My thoughts are with the families of those martyred while fighting Maoists in Chhattisgarh,” the Prime Minister had stated in a tweet.
Shah spoke to Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on the incident. Baghel tweeted that 5 personnel have been killed within the incident close to the Bijapur-Sukma border. “…My condolences are with the families of the martyrs. Their sacrifice will not go in vain.”
