Many dignitaries, together with the nation’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Presidents S Radhakrishnan and Zakir Hussain, visited his circus.

The Chief Minister said he had close ties with Sankaran who had a progressive outlook.
Sankaran was also close to various prime ministers, presidents and other prominent personalities. “His demise is a great loss to the art of circus in the country,” Vijayan mentioned.
The pioneering circus entrepreneur was honoured by the Union authorities with a lifetime achievement award contemplating his general contribution to the expansion of circus arts within the nation.
Sankaran is survived by two sons and a daughter.
His physique will likely be stored at his residence for the general public to pay homage and the final rites will likely be carried out at Payyambalam seaside on Tuesday.
