New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has thanked the Centre, Delhi High Court and Supreme Court on behalf of the residents because the nationwide capital was provided 730 metric tonnes of oxygen “for the first time”.

“Delhi requires 700 metric tonnes of oxygen every day. We have been consistently requesting the Central Government to help arrange the same. For the first time yesterday, Delhi received 730 MT of oxygen,” Kejriwal wrote in his letter.

“On behalf of the people of Delhi, I thank you. I request you to ensure that Delhi gets this amount of oxygen on a daily basis and that there is no cut. The entire Delhi will be grateful to you for this,” he added.

Kejriwal’s letter comes amid a tussle between the Centre and the AAP authorities within the Supreme Court over oxygen provide to the nationwide capital.

The Delhi CM additionally requested hospitals to reinstate their mattress capability as he mentioned: “Due to the oxygen crisis, hospitals had to reduce their bed capacity. I request all hospitals to now reinstate their bed capacity. I hope we will receive 700 tons of oxygen every day”.

“If we get an adequate supply of oxygen – 700 tons – we will be able to set up 9000 – 9500 beds in Delhi. We will be able to create oxygen beds. I assure you that we will not let anyone die to a shortage of oxygen in Delhi,” he added expressing hope.
