The Congress is making an attempt to exert “undue pressure” on the Judiciary, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju claimed on Monday, questioning the plan by members of the Opposition party to accompany Rahul Gandhi to a Surat courtroom.
Mr. Gandhi will likely be in Gujarat’s Surat metropolis on Monday to file an attraction in a courtroom in opposition to his conviction in a prison defamation case over his “Modi surname” remarks.
Senior Congress leaders, together with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Chief Ministers of three Congress-ruled States, different nationwide and State party leaders are probably to accompany him to the courtroom, sources mentioned.
