Congress’ NAC members to meet for next three days in Delhi, discuss seat-sharing for Lok Sabha elections – India TV

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Members of Congress’ National Alliance Committee (NAC), leaders of different I.N.D.I.A bloc events will maintain discussions on seat-sharing for the next three days in Delhi, forward of Lok Sabha elections due in April-May.

The conferences will happen on January 7, 8 and 9 at social gathering chief Mukul Wasnik’s residence in Delhi.

On Sunday, NAC members will meet amongst themselves, later, they’ll maintain discussions with RJD, and JD(U) leaders from Bihar.

After discussing with the representatives of varied events of I.N.D.I.A bloc, the NAC will discuss proposals obtained to it with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. 

The proposals on seat-sharing will then be mentioned with different social gathering leaders and a call shall be taken accordingly.

Congress constitutes committees for shortlisting candidates for Lok Sabha polls

On Friday, Congress constituted cluster-wise committees for shortlisting candidates for Lok Sabha elections due in April-May. The social gathering has divided all states and Union territories into 5 clusters for the aim.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge constituted the screening committees, in accordance to a celebration assertion.

  • In the cluster comprising Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry, Harish Chaudhary has been appointed because the screening committee chairperson with Jignesh Mevani and Viswajeet Kadam as its members.
  • For Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhusudan Mistry has been made the panel chief.
  • Suraj Hegde and Shafi Parambil shall be its members.
  • For Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Rajani Patil has been appointed because the chairperson of the screening committee with Krishna Allavuru and Pargat Singh as its members.
  • Bhakta Charan Das has been appointed because the chairman of the screening committee for the cluster comprising Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
  • Party leaders Neeraj Dangi and Yashomati Thakur have been appointed as members of this committee.
  • Party chief from Punjab Rana KP Singh has been appointed the chairperson of the screening committee for the cluster comprising Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim.
  • Jaivardhan Singh and Ivan D’Souza have been appointed as members of this panel.

According to the social gathering assertion, all normal secretaries, in-charges, state social gathering chiefs, Congress Legislature Party leaders, and AICC secretary in-charges for states/UTs have been appointed as ex-officio members of the respective committees.

The formation of the committees got here a day after prime leaders held a gathering to discuss the social gathering’s technique for the Lok Sabha elections.
