Congress president election: Shashi Tharoor and Mallikarjun Kharge are the get together’s two contestants for the Congress presidential ballot. “There are two candidates who had filed (valid) nominations – Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor. The period of withdrawal is over and none of them has withdrawn their candidature. So, there remain two candidates,” Congress’ central election authority chairman Madhusudan Mistry stated at a press convention on the AICC headquarters in New Delhi.

“In AICC also there will be a booth, especially for all senior leaders, working committee members and all those whose identity card is from a different state but are staying in Delhi. If they write to us that they want to vote in Delhi then we will make arrangements here as well, they can also vote here in AICC,” he additional stated. 

The official strategy of campaigning begins now however candidates have already began canvassing, he stated.

Elections will happen on October 17 in each state capital from 10 AM to 4 PM, Mistry stated, including that the vote will probably be by secret poll.

The poll bins will probably be dropped at Delhi and counting will happen on October 19.

Results will probably be declared the identical day, he stated.

Ballot papers can even be despatched to the Bharat Jodo Yatra campsite in Karnataka and a sales space will probably be set up there for the yatris, he stated.

Mistry additionally stated that an advisory was issued for the polls and it’s being adopted by everybody.
