Congress MLA Jakir Hussain Sikdar was suspended from Assam Assembly on March 14 which led the occasion lawmakers to stage a walkout in protest instantly afterwards.
Jakir Hussain Sikdar was suspended by Speaker Biswajit Daimary throughout Question Hour for insisting on asking a supplementary question regardless of being refused permission to take action.
The Congress legislator had sought to know what number of days of work had been sanctioned beneath MGNREGA within the State final 12 months throughout a query associated to it. As he was not the principle questioner, Mr. Daimary refused to permit Mr. Sikdar the supplementary query and requested him to renew his seat.
As the MLA endured on elevating his question, the Speaker ordered his suspension from the House for the day. As a mark of protest, all Congress MLAs walked out of the House together with Mr. Sikdar for the remaining of the Question Hour.
They maintained that Mr. Sikdar had not created any scene which required him to be suspended by the Speaker. At the tip of Question Hour, the Congress legislators returned to the House and Deputy Leader of Opposition Rakibul Hussain requested the Speaker to permit the legislator to return. Accepting the request, Mr. Daimary allowed Mr. Sikdar to attend the proceedings for relaxation of the day.
