The Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Thane crime department has recorded the assertion of Thane district Congress chief Vikrant Chavan after he was allegedly threatened over the telephone by gangster Subash Singh Thakur from the Tihar jail, an official stated on Sunday. AEC officers referred to as Chavan to the workplace on Saturday and recorded his assertion relating to the grievance he had filed after assembly Thane police commissioner Jai Jeet Singh.
No FIR is registered but. In his grievance, Chavan acknowledged he was referred to as to the workplace of an alleged aide of Thakur, a life-term convict lodged in Tihar jail, in suburban Ghatkopar in Mumbai the place he was threatened over the telephone within the presence of a senior official of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
Chavan claimed he had raised points like unauthorised constructions in Thane metropolis and corruption within the native civic physique.
