COVID-19: Haryana extends lockdown till June 7, eases certain restrictions

The Haryana authorities on Sunday prolonged the coronavirus-induced lockdown within the state by one other week till June 7, easing restrictions on store timings which is able to now be allowed to remain open from 9 am to three pm on odd-even days.

The state authorities termed the lockdown “Mahamari Alert/Surkshit Haryana (Epidemic Alert/Safe Haryana)”.

Addressing a digital press convention, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar mentioned although the COVID-19 scenario has improved within the state, it has been determined to increase the “Mahamari Alert/Surkshit Haryana” lockdown till 5 am on June 7 with some extra relaxations.

He mentioned outlets which have been earlier allowed to open as per odd-even foundation from 7 am to 12 pm will now be open from 9 am to three pm.

“We had received representations from market associations after which we decided to change the timings. However, the shops will continue to open as per teh odd-even system,” Khattar mentioned.

Malls will now be allowed to open from 10 am to six pm, topic to certain situations, he mentioned.

Number of tourists allowed inside a mall will rely on the dimensions of the construction, the chief minister added.

“For example, in a 1,000 square feet mall, 40 people will be allowed at a time, and if it has an area of 2,000 square feet, the number of people allowed at a given time will be 80,” he mentioned.

Those allowed entry can keep inside for a restricted period, and entry of others will likely be permitted primarily based on what number of are contained in the mall at a specific time, Khattar added.

“Mall operators must come out with a mechanism for this, they usually must take obligatory permission from deputy commissioners involved, he mentioned.

Colleges, industrial coaching institutes and faculties will stay closed till June 15 as already introduced, the chief minister mentioned.

The every day corona curfew timing within the state will proceed to be from 10 pm to five am, he added.
