COVID-19: Vistara offers to fly doctors, nurses free of cost across country

New Delhi: In order to assist accredited organisations and hospitals amid the surge in COVID-19 instances, Vistara Airlines on Sunday supplied the Ministry of Civil Aviation to fly medical doctors and nurses representing the federal government organisations, free of cost, across its home community.

In a letter to Usha Padhee, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Vistara mentioned the airways can even welcome requests from accredited organisations representing the Centre and states in speedy want of air logistics. “…we would like to assist authorities organisations/hospitals in speedy want of air logistics.

We welcome requests from accredited organisations representing the Government of India and state governments/union territories. We will consider these to prolong as a lot help as doable, based mostly on the provision of cargo area,” Vistara mentioned.It famous that the dealing with of floor transport to and from the airport would want to be managed by the requesting organisation, and the airways will be unable to honour ad-hoc requests and packages on the airport for logistical and safety causes.

The personnel who avail this service will have to mandatorily follow all the travel related SOPs and present relevant identification and documentation,” it added.The airways mentioned that due to the restricted availability of seats, it should accommodate the medical professionals on a first-come-first-serve foundation.
