Cyclone Tauktae continues to show weakening trend, says IMD after it wrecks havoc in Maharashtra, Gujarat

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday (May 18, 2021) morning mentioned that the ‘Cyclone Tauktae’ is continuous to show a weakening development after it wreck havoc in coastal states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

The IMD knowledgeable that the very extreme cyclonic storm Tauktae lay centered over Saurashtra at 4:30 AM on Tuesday, about 85 km north-north0east of Due and 20 km south of Amreli (Gujarat).

“The Cyclone continues to show weakening trend. Eye is disorganising, wall cloud is weakening,” the climate division said. 

As per IMD at round 5:30 AM, Cyclone Tauktae moved north-northeast wards with a pace of 11 kmph in the previous six hours.

At 2 AM, the IMD mentioned that land interplay disorganized the attention and eyewall cloud construction.

Cyclone Tauktae left a path of destruction and broken constructions, electrical energy traces, and uprooted bushes as it made landfall on Monday night time. It unleashed devastating winds that reached accelerates to 190 kilometres per hour because the storm made landfall in Gujarat

The street between Gujarat’s Somnath district and the Union Territory of Diu (Daman & Diu) which was blocked due to fallen bushes, has been cleared by the Army personnel for motion of autos. The NDRF additionally got here to rescue and cleared the street of fallen bushes and branches in Dahisar space of Mumbai.
