The Defence Ministry has given approval for proposal to purchase 9 maritime surveillance aircraft for the Indian Navy and 6 maritime patrol aircraft for the Indian Coast Guard, sources have stated.
The 15 maritime patrol planes could be constructed upon the Made-in-India C-295 transport aircraft and the price of the initiatives is round Rs 29,000 crore.
