Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday inaugurated twin elevated Eastern Cross Taxiways (ECT) and the fourth runway on the Delhi airport. With the ECT, the airport can even be the only one within the nation to have an elevated taxiway with roads passing below it. The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), which can also be the nation’s largest airport, handles greater than 1,500 plane actions each day.
The ECT which is 2.1 kilometres lengthy, will cut back the time spent on the tarmac by passengers after touchdown and earlier than take-off of flights.
