New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday expressed concern over mosquito infestation within the nationwide capital and mentioned if the scenario will not be managed instantly then the rise in vector-borne illnesses may result in extra issues and complexities amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Taking suo motu cognizance of the mosquito infestation within the nationwide capital, a bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Jameet Singh mentioned that the steps to be taken by the Delhi authorities and civic authorities have taken a again seat on account of the prevailing pandemic, including they should pull up their socks.

The High Court directed the Delhi authorities, three MCDs, Delhi Cantonment and New Delhi Municipal Council to file their standing studies on the steps already taken and to be undertaken on mosquito infestation, PTI reported.
The High Court, which listed the case for listening to earlier than a bench headed by the Chief Justice on May 28, mentioned one sees a surge in instances of chikungunya and dengue yearly throughout and after the monsoon.
Meanwhile, Delhi on Monday recorded 1,550 recent Covid-19 instances and 207 new fatalities whereas the positivity fee stands at 2.52 p.c.
