New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday (March 10) ordered the Police to provide protection to a lesbian girl, who was married against her needs, from her relations and in-laws.

Justice Mukta Gupta, who was listening to the plea, issued the order to the Lajpat Nagar SHO. She directed the police to provide protection to the lesbian girl.

The listening to was carried out after a plea was filed within the excessive court docket. The petitioner instructed the court docket that the involved homosexual girl is of 23 years of age. Woman’s dad and mom, being absolutely conscious of her sexual orientation, forcibly married her off to a person.  

The petitioner additionally requested the court docket to order a stop and desist to the lady’s father, father-in-law and her husband, which shall hold them from intimidating or threatening her.

The plea revealed that the lady was forcibly married against her will to a person on October 12, 2019. The plea was filed by the petitioner with the assistance of an NGO, Act Now for Harmony and Democracy (ANHAD) afterward.
