Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark gained his first Tour de France title on Sunday after popping out on high of an exciting three-week duel with defending champion Tadej Pogacar.
Geraint Thomas, the 2018 champion, was third.
Belgium’s Jasper Philipsen gained the sprint for the road on the cobbled Champs Elysees to take the long-lasting last stage victory.

The ecstatic Philipsen lifted his bike aloft on the end line after taking his second win of this Tour, turning the web page on his embarrassment of mistakenly celebrating on stage 4, when he had actually completed second.
Vingegaard and his Jumbo-Visma teammates all crossed the road collectively in a line and cheering wildly.
After a relentless wrestle over peaks and plains in a crushing heatwave, Vingegaard assured his win on Saturday’s time-trial having taken the lead within the Alps and prolonged it within the Pyrenees.
His Dutch crew Jumbo produced a superb collective effort with six stage wins, the inexperienced dash jersey for van Aert and the polka dot mountains jersey for Vingegaard.
Defeated champion Pogacar gained the perfect under-25s jersey for the third time and leaves this Tour together with his status intact after attacking Vingegaard to the bitter finish.
The 25-year-old Vingegaard grew to become the primary Danish rider to win biking’s largest race since Bjarne Riis in 1996. He completed 3 minutes, 34 seconds forward of second-place Pogacar.
Vingegaard, who was runner-up to Pogacar final 12 months, constructed his success within the mountains.
