New Delhi: Launching a vitriolic assault on West Bengal Chief Minister for skipping the cyclone Yaas evaluate assembly chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday stated the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo’s conduct “is an unfortunate low”, including she has “put arrogance above public welfare”.

“Mamata Didi’s conduct today is an unfortunate low. Cyclone Yaas has affected several common citizens and the need of the hour is to assist those affected. Sadly, Didi has put arrogance above public welfare and today’s petty behaviour reflects that,” he tweeted.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh too criticized Banerjee for skipping the evaluate assembly and stated “this is an unfortunate example of placing political differences over constitutional duty”.

Asserting the “Prime Minister and Chief Minister are not just individuals but institutions”, Singh stated such behaviour in the direction of Prime Minister Modi is “painful”.

“Today’s developments in West Bengal are shocking, the Chief Minister and Prime Minister are not just individuals’ but institutions. Both undertake public service resolutions and take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution,” he stated in a tweet posted in Hindi.

The remarks come because the West Bengal Chief Minister earlier within the day skipped a evaluate assembly with Prime Minister Modi on cyclone Yaas.
