Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor’s ancestral homes in Pakistan to be converted into museums : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

On June 1, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial authorities of Pakistan accredited the acquisition of the ancestral house of Bollywood legends Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar for changing them into museums. The present proprietor of the homes had raised objections to the sale, which was later rejected by Peshawar district commissioner Captain(retd). Khalid Mehmud.

The value of the homes had been decided following a report of the Communication and Works Department. Dilip Kumar’s ancestral haveli was priced at Rs. 80,56,000 and Raj Kapoor’s home was valued at Rs. 1,50,00,000.

Earlier, the proprietor of Dilip Kumar’s home demanded Rs 25 crore, whereas the proprietor of Raj Kapoor’s home was demanding Rs 200 crore. Haji Lal Muhammad, the proprietor of Dilip Kumar’s ancestral property, had bought the property in 2005 for Rs. 51 lakh after finishing all authorized formalities. He had stated that it’s unjust of the federal government to worth the prophet at Rs. 80.56 lakhs after 16 years.

Raj Kapoor’s ancestral house often called Kapoor Haveli is located in the fabled Qissa Khwani Bazar and was constructed between 1918 and 1922. Raj Kapoor was born in the constructing. Meanwhile, veteran actor Dilip Kumar’s over the 100-yr-outdated ancestral home can also be situated in the identical locality. The home was declared as a nationwide heritage in 2014.
