Reliance Industries, India’s most respected firm, and Walt Disney are finalising particulars of a non-binding time period sheet to merge their Indian media operations, the Economic Times reported on Tuesday citing executives concerned within the deal.

Under the present phrases of settlement, probably to be introduced in January, a newly-formed unit of Reliance’s Viacom18 is to soak up Disney’s Star India by way of a share swap deal, the report added.

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance is more likely to pay money for a 51 % stake within the proposed Viacom18 unit whereas Disney owns 49 %, ET mentioned. The unit’s board is anticipated to have equal illustration from each events, based on the newspaper.
