New Delhi: The state of West Bengal is witnessing political turmoil amid the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The current incidents of assault on the Central investigation agencies– NIA and ED– and the alleged involvement of the Trinamool Congress within the matter have sparked controversy.

The incident sparked after the NIA staff arrived close to Bhupatinagar of East Medinipur District in West Bengal to arrest the suspects concerned in a bomb blast in 2022. During this operation, the NIA staff was accompanied by CRPF personnel and feminine constables. Local ladies confronted the NIA and CRPF groups with sticks and rods to stop the arrest of the 2 fundamental suspects.
On March 28, eight TMC leaders had been summoned by NIA for questioning and interrogation. At that point, TMC chief Kunal Ghosh alleged that the BJP had supplied an inventory of TMC leaders to NIA, primarily based on which NIA was making ready to arrest these leaders.
