New Delhi: In a letter to Prime Minister Modi, medical doctors’ affiliation Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) complain in regards to the ‘VIP Culture’ in authorities hospitals and mentioned that politicians name them dwelling for testing & remedies.

“Priority is being given to all the so-called politicians and their party workers who have actually held rallies and increased the spread of the virus” FAIMA mentioned within the letter.

The second wave of Covid-19 has brought a rapid rise in cases adding pressure to the medical system in the country. As Maharashtra remains the top contributors to the case load, BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday decided to convert Four-star and Five-star hotels as Covid centres. BMC has also decided to set up 3 new jumbo field hospitals in the city.
Meanwhile, the Kejriwal govenrment informed that authorities in the national capital are working on attaching banquet halls and hotels with large hospitals. The capacity of beds will also be increased soon. Hospitals may delay some planned surgeries and focus on emergency surgery. Moreover, the experts are examining each patient and a call will be taken if he/she can be cured at home.
India reports 1,61,736 new COVID19 cases, 97,168 discharges and 879 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry. The total cases now stands at 1,36,89,453.
