In a significant reduction to shoppers, the price of home Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders will scale back by Rs 10 from April 1, bringing it right down to Rs 809 per cylinder, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) knowledgeable on Wednesday.
The value of a gasoline cylinder earlier stood at Rs 819 per cylinder.
“The price of domestic LPG cylinders has been reduced by Rs 10 per cylinder from Rs 819 per cylinder to Rs 809 per cylinder in Delhi, effective from April 1. The same reduction has been carried out in other markets,” the IOC stated.
Prices of crude oil and petroleum merchandise have been on a relentless uptrend since November 2020. As India is basically import-dependent on crude oil and the costs are market-linked, the rise in worldwide costs resulted in a rise in home value of petroleum merchandise, based on an official assertion.
However, attributable to rising worries about rising COVID-19 instances and considerations over the unintended effects of the vaccine, costs of crude oil and petroleum merchandise within the worldwide market softened within the second fortnight of March 2021, it added.
The IOC additional knowledgeable that oil corporations have diminished the Retail Selling Price (RSP) of diesel and petrol by 60 paise per litre and 61 paise per litre respectively within the nationwide capital over the previous few days.
