‘Dude, I’m Hindu’: Kamala Harris’ Niece Meena Harris Responds To Accusation Of Hating Hindus

New Delhi: Meena Harris, American lawyer, author and niece of newly-elected US Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday took to Twitter and replied to an accusation by an Indian author who accused the former of revealing her Hindu phobia. “Dude, I’m Hindu. Stop using religion as a cover for fascism,” she wrote retweeting the tweet of the author who accused her of hating Hindus.

Meena Harris became talk of the town after she post series of tweets suppporting the farmers protest in India against three contentious agri laws passed by the Centre last year. Thousand of farmers have been camping at the Delhi borders demanding rollback of all three farms laws.

Amid the brouhaha over Twitter and farmers’ issue, Meena Harris and some international celebrities had recently extended their support to the Indian protesters agitating against the new farm laws.

“It’s no coincidence that the world’s oldest democracy was attacked not even a month ago, and as we speak, the most populous democracy is under assault. This is related. We all should be outraged by India’s internet shutdowns and paramilitary violence against farmer protesters,” Meena tweeted extending her support to farmers’ protest.

Other internation celebs including American pop singer Rihanna, celebrity teenager famous for her environmental activism Greta Thunberg and Lebanese-American former pornographic actress Mia Khalifa also joined the bandwagon by tweeting about the ongoing unrest over agri laws in India.

While their tweets got hundreds of likes and retweets from around the world, thousands of Indians including Ministry of Home Affiar (MEA) and Indian film being critical of the action.
