The England cricket group have been fined 40 per cent of their match charges for gradual over-rate in opposition to New Zealand within the first match of the two-Test sequence at Lord’s that led to a draw on Sunday.

International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee, Chris Broad, discovered Joe Root’s aspect two overs brief of the goal after time allowances had been considered.
